September 13th Program Called Off Due to Weather |
|
LM Kayak Pools 100 Completion to be Determined |
|
. |
| Due to exceedingly wet grounds and
the promise of more rain later on Saturday, the scheduled final program
of the season at the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex on Saturday,
September 13th has been called off. Because of potential
scheduling conflicts with the Race of Champions at Oswego Speedway on
the weekend of September 20th, and with the US Open at Dunn Tire Raceway
Park on the weekend of September 27th, this program will not be made up.
Therefore, the Holland 2008 schedule is complete. Yet to be determined is the future of the Kayak Pools 100 for the NorthEast Late Model Series. The first 24 laps had been completed on July 12th, when the rains hit, forcing postponement of the remaining 76 laps to September 13th. Among the options being considered are postponing the remainder of the race to early 2009, or cancelling the race all together - other options may be considered, as well. As soon as a determination is made, it shall be announced. With the completion of the 2008 schedule, the season champions have been announced: NASCAR Sunoco SST Pro Modifieds: Jonathon Price; LAMOT Late Models: T.J. Johnson; Carquest Chargers: Mark Hoch; Native Pride Pro Fours: Brandon Hirsch; Alliance Auto Recycling Figure 8 Cars: Mike Eckam; INEX Legends: Jake Vernon; Thiel Motorsports Hornets: Mae Urban; Thiel Motorsports Queen Bees: Ashley Kirchberger.
