Tire Raceway Park Schedules Action Packed Stock Car Season “Mighty”

Lancaster, New York – Dunn Tire Raceway Park has scheduled an action packed season for the 52nd season of stock car racing at the famed facility. The 2010 season will feature 12 regular season shows and the annual season finale US Open. The “Western New York Home of the Asphalt Modified” will feature the ground pounding Modifieds for five shows over the course of the season. Each Modified race will be 50 laps in length and teams will draw for position each week. The prestigious Race of Champions Modified Tour visits the speedway twice – June 19th and the US Open, which is scheduled one week earlier than usual on September 18th and 19th. Regular shows will feature the 4 Cylinders, Street Stocks, and SST Sportsman. The TQ Midgets will also be slated for a number of shows. New this season is the addition of the Legends to the DTRP inner oval. After a successful showcase at the 2009 US Open, the Legends have been booked for three regular season shows and the US Open. Returning for a very special memorial race will be the full fendered Late Models. They will appear for a 50 late feature on May 15th – Opening Day. The race will be run in memory of John Freundschuh, the owner of Bobcat of Buffalo and longtime race supporter who passed away in January. Also returning for a special race during the regular season will be the Super Stocks. A special 50 lap race is scheduled for July 17th. Each night the racing action will begin at 6:30pm with the front gates opening at 5pm. Numerous special promotional nights are scheduled throughout the season including Little League Night, Kids Day, Emergency Responders Night, Heroes Homecoming, and Autograph Night. In addition, the infamous DTRP Big Wheels for kids 13 and under will begin their season opening day and the free weekly “Kids Club” will make its return.
