Lancaster, New York – There is a new “man behind the one way radio” at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP).  Larry Woodruff has been named the Stock Car Race Director for the 2010 Stock Car Season.  Woodruff, who previously held the position of head flagger at DTRP, takes over from John Nelson, who is stepping down after two years in the race director position.

“I am looking forward to being the race director at Dunn Tire Raceway Park.  I have worked as the head flagger for many years and look forward to working with the drivers, other officials, and staff at DTRP to produce a well run, entertaining show”, stated Woodruff.

“I am confidant that Larry is going to do a great job in his new position.  As for myself, it was time for me to step down from the weekly commitment so that I can spend more time with my family”, commented John Nelson.  Nelson will remain on staff with DTRP in an advisory role.

In other Dunn Tire Raceway Park staffing news, Dennis Murphy has agreed to return for another season as the Head Technical Inspector for the stock cars.  Murphy, who has been in the Head Tech position for the previous two seasons, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Dennis back on board for the 2010 season”, commented Director of Stock Car Events Lori Overdorf.  “Dennis, with his technical knowledge and expertise, levels the playing field, making it fair for all DTRP competitors.”

The 2010 stock car season is quickly taking shape and the completed schedule is slated to be released in mid-January.  For more information on the Dunn Tire Raceway Park stock car program visit www.dunntireracewaypark.com or contact Director of Stock Car Events Lori Overdorf at 716-207-2824.
