(North East, PA- August 15, 2009) Lake Erie Speedway was in full swing Saturday night with a full schedule of races plus Career Concepts Night at the Races, Pennsylvania State Employees Appreciation Night, American Cancer Society and The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs Night.

The first race of the night featured the Boyer RV Center Bandoleros. Eleven Bandoleros raced for twelve laps; with #81 Michael Walker leading the race for all twelve. #21 Alexis Wilson took the second position early in the race. #23 Devon Moore pulled out during Lap 6 and didn’t return to the race. #26 Anthony Riforgiato and #1 Brandon DeBrakeleer competed for third position during Laps 10 and 11, but DeBrakeleer took the third position and held onto it for the remainder of the race. Walker held his lead to finish the race in first place, Wilson in second, DeBrakeleer in third, Riforgiato in fourth, and #69 Brody Wood finishing in fifth place.

The next feature race were the Jensens Target Collision Compacts that raced for fifteen laps. #17m Rich Miller started the race off in the first position, with no clear second position until #95 Jonathan Breads took over in Lap 6. #77 Julie McAvoy moved into third position during Lap 7 with a slew of contenders on her bumper. Breads made one last attempt to pass Miller during Lap 14 but was unable to make the pass. Miller finished in first place, Breads in second, and McAvoy, #34b Brandon Huffman, and #21 Mike Neubauer in third, fourth, and fifth places.

The Street Stocks were next on the track to race twenty laps. #55 Ken Moore Jr. jumped out to an early lead but was closely trailed by #83 Russ Conti and #1 Jeff Campbell. Conti took the lead during Lap 5 with #21 Dave Wilson moving into the second position. During Lap 6, #19 Kaity Kicinski spun out, causing the first yellow flag of the night. Wilson moved into first position during Lap 8 and never looked back. #67 Dillan Napier removed himself from the race and didn’t come back. Campbell took over the second position during Lap 14, and Conti moved into third position. #11 Ed Hall spun out in Lap 15, causing the second yellow flag of the race to be thrown. Wilson finished the race in first place, followed by Campbell in second place, Conti in third, #99 Dennis Kszos in fourth place, and Moore Jr. in fifth.

Next, the Career Concepts Legends were up. Twelve Legends began the race, with #9 Larry Occhibone taking an early lead and #3 Zac Carter close behind. #25 Steve Sunday passed Carter during Lap 6, while #39 Jeremy Haudricourt took the third position. Sunday took over the first position during Lap 10, but Occhibone and #21 Patrick Lyden continued the fight for second position. #8 Justin Hines moved into fourth position while coming from the back during Lap 18 after passing a string of cars. Hines then took over the third position during the last lap but did not advance any further. Sunday lead the rest of the way to finish in first place, Lyden in second place, Hines in third, Occhibone in fourth place, and Haudricourt in fifth.

The Dodge Modified feature was next on the track. #22 Ken Moore began the race in first position, and #17jr. James-Paul Weisser in second position. #77 Dave McAvoy moved into the first position during Lap 11, when a caution flag was thrown after Weisser spun out and was forced to move to the back of the pack. #24 Randy Culver quickly moved up next to McAvoy in second position during Lap 14. #32 Eric McCray held the third position for many laps and battled to take the second position away from Culver. Weisser spun out into the wall again during Lap 21, causing yet another caution flag to be thrown and Weisser to end his race by walking into the pits as his car was towed from the track. McAvoy barely held the lead for first position, while Culver finished in second, McCray in third place, #14 Carter Mook in fourth, and #13 Nate Carlson in fifth place.

The last race of the night featured the Plyler Overhead Door Late Models. #24 Dave Rigan started the race out in front, followed by #59 Bryce Scott and #17 Chris Bailey Jr. #04 Bret Guzik moved into third position during Lap 13 with #55 Matt Barndt on his bumper. The first caution flag of the race was thrown when Scott and #56 Rich Skora tangled during Lap 26 and Scott fell to the back. Guzik was then able to take over the second position and #65 George Skora III close behind in the third position. Barndt still remained in fourth position and #17 Chris Bailey Jr. in fifth position going into Lap 31. With ten laps to go, Rigan took an even bigger lead and remained in first position to come in first place. Guzik finished in second, Skora III in third place, and Skora and Barndt in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
