Saturday’s races were presented by WICU 12 and showcased all race divisions, including the Legends and Bandoleros National and Regional Qualifying races. The night began with a special Boyer RV Center Bandoleros twenty-lap race in which fifteen cars competed. #06 Matthew Linker took a lengthy lead, followed by #03 Luke Demis and #1 Brandon DeBrakeleer. Linker then passed #23 Devon Moore in Lap 9 and continued to make his way to lap #71 Tyler McArdle in Lap 10. In Lap 12, #97 Darrin Waldron spun out, causing the first caution flag to be thrown. #48 AJ Hamilton removed himself from the race during Lap 13. A 2nd caution flag was thrown after McArdle spun out during Lap 15. As soon as the green flag was thrown, #26 Anthony Riforgiato and #21 Alexis Wilson tangled in turn 2 and another caution flag was thrown. Linker, who traveled from Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina for the qualifying race, led the rest of the way to come in 1st place. Demis followed in 2nd place, DeBrakeleer in 3rd place, and #9 Carl Vilardo IV and #81 Michael Walker in 4th and 5th places, respectively. The next twenty-lap race featured the Jensens Target Collision Compacts. #34b Brandon Huffman began the race in first position, with #77 Julie McAvoy close on his heels. In Lap 4, McAvoy lapped Huffman as he stopped in turn 4, a caution flag was thrown, and he was towed from the track. #95 Jonathan Breads moved into 2nd place and was closely trailed by #35 Reta Trobin in Lap 10. #21m Mitchell Fralick and #28 Jay Johnson both left the race during Lap 12. #7 Angela McAvoy stayed on Breads heels for the last seven laps of the race but was unable to pass. Julie McAvoy finished the race in 1st place, followed by Breads, Angela McAvoy, #21 Mike Neubauer, and #98 Chris McQuiston. Next on the track were the Street Stocks. #1 Jeff Campbell spun out in Lap 1 and left the track after a caution flag was thrown. #83 Russ Conti broke away from the pack in Lap 3, followed by #21 Dave Wilson. #99 Dennis Kszos moved into third position, trailing Wilson. With only eight cars racing, Conti, Wilson, and Kszos had no fight for their positions. Conti came in 1st place, followed by Wilson, and #01 Leslie Bohrer,#55 Ken Moore Jr., and #20 John Denny rounding out the top five. After the intermission, the Career Concepts Legends entered the track for their fifty-lap feature race. #36 Harrison Rhodes, of High Point, North Carolina, started the race in first position, followed by #03 Daniel Hemric of Kannapolis, North Carolina. #4 Brett Sager was lapped early in Lap 16 by a string of cars. #3 Zac Carter’s engine caught on fire and created a cloud of smoke during Lap 19 causing a lengthy clean up on the track due to the oil that was leaked from his car. After fifteen minutes the race resumed, with Rhodes and Hemric remaining in their positions, #01 Hoyt Demis of Arendale, North Carolina, in fourth position and #25 Steve Sunday in fifth position. Sager began to smoke during Lap 25, causing a caution flag to be thrown and his immediate removal from the race. #8 Justin Hines moved into the 2nd position during Lap 37. Hemric led for the remainder of the race to finish in 1st place, then Hines, Demis, Sunday and Rhodes. The next feature event showcased the Dodge Modifieds. #11 Casey Swabik began the race in first position and #1 Terry Akerly close on his heels. Akerly took the lead in Lap 7, with Swabik falling to fifth position and #32 Eric McCray and #28 Dale Murdock battling for second position. #66 Al Crossman and #49 Bob Russell were both lapped by the leaders in Lap 20. #77 Dave McAvoy moved into third position during Lap 21, but was unable to make a pass on either 2nd place Murdock or Akerly, who led the entire race and finished in 1st place. McCray finished in 4th place and #14 Carter Mook placed in 5th.
The last race of the night featured the Plyler Overhead Door Late
Models. #20 Scott Nurmi and #19 Chris Bohlman tangled during the first
lap, causing the first caution flag of the race to be thrown. #69 Josh
John and #9 Will Thomas battled for first position, while #32 Glenn
Gault Jr. and #56 Rich Skora battled for second position. #07 Tom Fayes
Jr. spun out during Lap 18 to cause another caution flag to be thrown.
#65 George Skora III moved into third position during Lap 18, and took
over second position in Lap 24. Thomas took a big lead in the middle of
the race and never looked back. John raced into third position during
Lap 34, close on the heels of Skora III. Thomas finished in 1st
place, followed by Skora III, John, Rich Skora, and Gault Jr. to finish
