June 13^th is Kids Day at Dunn Tire Raceway Park

Saturday, June 13^th is “Kids Day” at Dunn Tire Raceway Park, formerly known as Lancaster Speedway.  Admission is just $1 for kids 8-14 years old and kids under age 8 will be admitted for free!  Lots of activities are planned for the kids and a full card of stock car racing is scheduled as well.

 Included in the Kids Day events will be:

Race Car Rides – ride around the fast and famous Dunn Tire Raceway Park oval in a real stock car!!  The Able Agency Street Stocks will be providing free race car rides to kids before the nights racing action.

Driver Autograph Session – Come down and meet the drivers of the race cars in an Autograph Session during the night’s intermission.  Drivers from all divisions will be on hand to meet and greet kids (and their parents), sign autographs, and take pictures.

Coloring Contest – Think you’re the best at coloring in the lines?  Or do you have an artistic side?  Kids from all age groups will be invited to participate in a coloring contest.  The coloring sheet and crayons will be provided.

Face Painting & Balloon Animals – Kids can get their face painted with a checkered flag or race car as they walk in the front gate!  A balloon “artist” will be on hand as well, making balloon animals for the kids.

Big Wheel Races – The Big Wheel races are a tradition at Dunn Tire Raceway Park , with many current drivers getting their racing start in the Big Wheel division.  Any child is welcome to participate and should bring their own Big Wheel.

The premier, and most anticipated, event of Kids Day will be the Kids Box Car Races. 

Kids Box Car Races - Kids can race on the racetrack just like the real Dunn Tire Raceway Park Drivers do! Only kids have to use their feet and a little bit of imagination in “Kids Box Races”!! Here’s how it works….Find a cardboard box and paint and decorate it like a real race car (it must be decorated!). Kids will wear their “racecar” and will race (run) on the DTRP frontstrech. The first car (kid) to cross the finish line wins! There will be three age groups 5 & Under, 6-8 years old, and 9-12 years old. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, “Best Looking Race Car”, and “Most Creative Design”.

In addition to all of the kids events, an exciting night of racing action has been planned.  On the racing schedule for the night are the quick TQ Midgets, wild and crazy 4 Cylinders, fan favorite Agency Street Stocks, fast and furious Bobcat of Buffalo SST Sportsman, and the mighty 600 horsepower McGard Modifieds.

Grandstand gates open at 5pm and the racing action begin at 6:30pm.  Grandstand Adult admission is just $12,  and Grandstand Senior admission is $10.

Dunn Tire Raceway Park is located at 57 Gunnville Road, Lancaster, New York – just a few miles down Genesee Street from the Buffalo Niagara Airport.
