| 6/12/09 - Delevan, NY: Arcade International
Raceway hosted United Way Night and Friday night victories went to
Sinclairville, NY's John Lacki for the third time this season in the
Emerling Resale Center FASTRAK Late Model feature, South Dayton, NY's
Chad Silleman for the initial victory of his racing career in the E-Mod
main event, Delevan, NY's Brett Smith for his first win of the year in
the Street Stock class, Levi Watson of Franklinville, NY for his second
trip to victory lane this season in the Four Cylinder class with
Centreville, NY's John Ellwood claiming his second Pure Stock victory of
2009. Jeff Woodward was the Street Stock feature's first leader for the first four laps until Andy Michael took over the top spot on lap five. Michael led eleventh place starter Brett Smith, Josh Wilcox, Dan Giboo and Adam Sixt at the halfway point. Smith briefly touched the wall coming out of turn two on lap thirteen while trying to catch the lead machine of Michael. The last caution really changed the outcome. Smith was able to make a last lap pass around Michael and brought his ride into victory lane for the first time this season. Joe Layfield also was able to make it by Michael for second spot which left Michael with third place at the finish line. The E-Mod feature's start saw Justin Tatlow jump out to lead from the outside pole. Chad Silleman was on the move from his sixth starting position and moved into second place on lap six. The battle for the lead was on lap ten between Tatlow and Silleman, and Tatlow surrendered it to Silleman. Rich Michael, Jr. moved into second place at the halfway point as well. Michael was able to get under the Silleman ride, but he couldn't make the move stick. Last week's winner Nathan Hill was also closing in on the top two spots as he moved into third place on lap twelve. Tatlow spun from fourth place to draw a caution. The lap fifteen restart had Nathan Hill tagging the turn three outside wall to bring out the caution as Al Brewer went to the pits. Michael tried an outside move on Silleman on the restart, but it didn't work for the lead. Silleman retained the lead for the duration of the feature to pick up his first career victory as Michael followed him closely for second place. John Woodward, Jr. ran to a third place finish. Brad Mesler led the first lap of the Emerling Resale Center FASTRAK Late Model feature before John Lacki spun in turn four on lap two to bring out the caution flag. The lap three restart had Mesler leading Tim Schram and Kyle Drum. 2008 McKean County Raceway FASTRAK Late Model champion Max Blair charged into second spot on lap four and took the lead one lap later from Mesler. Blair held the lead at the halfway point along with a straightaway advantage over the Schram and Lacki rides who were in a tight battle for the second spot. Bob Kish moved into the three car fight for second place by lap fifteen. The caution waved and erased Blair's huge lead. Blair lead Lacki on the restart, but Lacki was able to get around him for his third trip to victory lane this season. Blair's first start of the season netted him a second place finish with Schram getting the third spot. The Four Cylinder feature had Brad Ullman taking the lead on the first lap with Levi Watson settling into second spot. Randy Lananger was able to make by Watson on lap three for the second place position, but Watson returned to it again on lap six when Lananger retired to the pits. Ullman had Watson on his back bumper until the finish. Ullman was disqualified in post-race tech which awarded the victory to Watson. It was Levi Watson's second win of the season. This moved Nick Snayczuk into the second spot with Rick Bump taking third place in the revised finish. George Conkey, the points leader, was the leader of the first lap in the Pure Stock feature. Don Williams, the winner of the last three features, swept by Conkey on the second lap for the top spot. John Ellwood then took over at the point on the ninth lap from Williams. Williams bounced off the front wall with five laps left and kept on going while running in the second position. Ellwood led Williams to the finish for his second win of the year. Williams was disqualified in post-race tech. Curt Pastorius moved up to claim second place with George Conkey taking the third spot in the revised finish.
